Women in Science: Paths of Memory Between History, Cinema, and Literature, from February 12 to April 18
As part of the initiatives for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the bibliographic exhibition Women in Science: Paths of Memory Between History, Cinema, and Literature has been set up from February 12nd to April 18th at Library's Canonica site.
The exhibition highlights the growing interest in this theme in the publishing world over the past few decades, with various types of publications such as biographies, collections and biographical novels, popular science essays, current scientific affairs, graphic novels, children's books, and illustrated educational works.
Through brief captions, it presents some narrative paths starting from the biographies of female scientists (such as Rita Levi Montalcini, Doudna and Charpentier, Rosalind Franklin, Lise Meitner, Marie Skłodowska-Curie, Dorothy Crowfoot, Emmy Noether, Sofia Kovalevskaja, Dorothy Johnson, Jane Goodall, Vandhana Shiva, Jocelyn Bell, Margherita Hack) that expand the perspective to related themes in film and television production, as well as numerous online resources, aiming to engage new generations with the world of STEM disciplines.
The initiative is aimed at the Library’s users, the School community, and groups that request it (please contact eventiculturali@sns.it).
